BBBAAAAAWWWWW is the sound they make…. that's descriptive enough, right?

Category Archives: Flashbacks

After leaving the project for a night, i decided I didn’t like it as much as I had originally and went back to edit it again. There’s still some problems, but I’m a bit happier with this version, and I’m going to stop editing it because it’ll just be like trying to cut a straight edge on a piece of paper with scissors: I’ll keep trying and trying to get a perfect straight line, but can’t, and end up with nothing left.

Also known as George Lucasing it.

The second reason is that the class this is due for is in 1 hour and 15 minutes, so I really can’t keep on editing it.

So, for my screen toolkit class, we had to make a completely audio project. This is the result.

There are a few parts I sort of want to edit again, but they are the parts I had a hard time making work in the first place. The piece wasn’t right without them, and they felt a little sloppy with them. Guh.

But I really enjoyed working on this, and am somewhat proud of the result. The video is on the youtubes because I can’t upload videos to this blog.

I have to go now because someone is staring at me. I think they need this computer, and I’m done. Just so you know, person reading over my shoulder, my hard drive is formatted for a Mac, and I have a PC at home. Rest assured I’m not using this machine for a program I could easily use on a PC. You could always stare angrily at that person a few stations down using a $2500 computer for facebook and email.

Yes. You.

…Nope, I can’t. This youtube uploading is slow work. Also, brush your teeth.

Yes, I AM checking my facebook now. Stop sighing. My upload’s at 90%. I want to get out of here too you know, and I have to commute an hour. Trust me I’m not here for the lulz.

I made this up when I was a kid, having browsed through a Green Lantern comic, seen and then forgotten the Oath. I still think it’s pretty awesome.

In brightest day

In darkest night

No evil will escape my might

Let fools be killed with dynamite

Cause I’m Green Lantern, out-a-sight

Alright, it hasn’t been exactly 10 years, but it’s been close enough. Finally, finally, Osama bin Laden has been caught, and killed.

Now, I understand not everyone is going to react the same way to hearing this news. I expect some people just don’t care. I’m sure he has someone, somewhere, who cared enough for him to mourn his loss, and countless others who have lost a leader will probably react with outrage and anger.

But I am an American. And more importantly, I am a New Yorker. And all I can say is “Fuck. Yeah.”

It feels odd to celebrate the death of someone. And I don’t mean celebrate the way I want people to celebrate when I die: with music and laughter and a party celebrating my life – but properly celebrating the fact that this person is no longer alive.

But I can only explain this by explaining 9/11 to you – assuming you are not a New Yorker, or an American.

Some of you may have been witness to my brain in an uncensored form last night. I don’t know if I should apologize or not. Some of you may be like “Wha? What happened?” because you are one of 3 people who aren’t on twitter, or else one of the bajillions who don’t follow me. You should remedy that. Cause you never know when a night like last night will happen.

Some people drunk tweet. I have. My drunk tweets are usually misspelled and esoteric (which is just a fancy way of saying that only 5 people in the entire world will actually get those tweets, and they were probably the 5 people I went out and got drunk with). What I did last night was tweet while waaaay over-tired.

“But it was only 10pm”

I know reader, I know. Used to be a time I could stay up until 4am without being overtired, but as recently as two weeks ago I started going to sleep at a regular time and waking up early (neither of which, I’ll note, is a “normal” time, IMO). There are 2 reasons for this:

1.) I start classes next Monday, and had orientation all this week, so I knew I needed to be able to be up and out the door by 8:30

2.) I was (and still am) addicted to Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 to the point that I would play them well past 4am, and it just got to a level of ridiculousness that I new the only way to solve this was to stay up for 24 hours straight. I succeeded at this a few weeks ago by playing Mass Effect 2, and beating it, for… like… 18 hours. After a few rocky noghts of my body being all “What the crap is this, I don’t want to go to bed now!” I get tired around 7:30pm, end up in bed by 8:30 and asleep by 9 generally.

Day 8

A Song You Know All the Words to

Back in high school my global teacher made us study this song as a way to understand and connect our lives to modern history. So, because I’m me, I learned the song.

Also, it was the first time I reazlied the lyric went:

“Space monkey, Mafia” and not “Space monkey mafia”

A Space Monkey Mafia would be awesome though.
